होशंगाबाद जिले के सोहागपुर में जब कांग्रेस पार्टी के कद्दावर और दबंग कहे जाने वाले नेता पुष्पराज पटेल ने नगर परिषद सोहागपुर के एक वार्ड में पानी की किल्लत को लेकर महिलाओं संग प्रदर्शन कर मटके फोड़े तो, जिसके बाद सीएमओ ने थाने में आवेदन देकर शासकीय कार्य मे बाधा डालने की एफआईआर दर्ज करा दी।

होशंगाबाद जिले की सोहागपुर में जब अंबेडकर वार्ड की महिलाएं अपने घरों में पानी सप्लाई न होने की शिकायत लेकर नगर परिषद कार्यालय पहुची , तब उनके साथ वार्ड पार्षद हेमलता कहार और कांग्रेस के पूर्व जिला अध्यक्ष और विधानसभा प्रतयाशी रहे पुष्प राज पटेल भी पहुचे थे। सभी ने मिलकर सीएमओ जीएस राजपूत से अंबेडकर वार्ड में पानी की सप्लाई न होने से हो रही परेशानी को बता कर पानी सप्लाई किये जाने की मांग की , इस दौरान महिलाओं ने मटके फोड़कर प्रदर्शन भी किया।
बता दे कि नगर परिषद सोहागपुर के अंबेडकर वार्ड में पिछले कुछ सालों से लगातार पानी की समस्या बनी हुई है। जिसके चलते जरूरत के लिये पानी निजी टैंकरों से सप्लाई किया जाता है, गर्मी के दिनों में वाटर लेवल कम होने की बजह से वहां पानी नही पहुच पा रहा है जिससे सैकड़ो घरों में पानी की किल्लत हो रही है। फ़िलहाल वार्ड पार्षद हेमलता कहार द्वारा निजी ट्रेक्टर और टैंकरों से पानी सप्लाई करवा रहे थे लेकिन अब आगे लगातार पानी सप्लाई करने में सक्षम नही है, जिसके बाद मंगलवार को नगर परिषद कार्यालय में कांग्रेस पार्टी के पूर्व जिला अध्यक्ष पुष्पराज पटेल और कांग्रेसी नेता मोहन कहार के साथ वार्ड की पार्षद हेमलता कहार पानी की किल्लत झेल रही महिलाए पहुची थी। जहां महिलाओ ने पलकमती नदी का गंदा पानी से भरे मटके नगर परिषद में सीएमओ कार्यलय के सामने मटके फोड़े , और नारेबाजी की।
जिसके बाद सीएमओ जी एस राजपूत ने सोहागपुर थाने में आवेदन देकर शासकीय कार्य मे बाधा डालने सम्बंधी शिकायत की , जिसके बाद कांग्रेसी नेता पुष्पराज पटेल और मोहन कहार के खिलाफ आईपीसी की धारा 353 की एफआईआर दर्ज की गई है। जिसके बाद राजनीति गर्मा गई है, उधर दो बार नगर पालिका अध्यक्ष रह चुके वरिष्ठ कांग्रेसी नेता संतोष मॉलविय का कहना है की उनके कार्यकाल में किसी भी वार्ड में पानी की कमी नही आई, लेकिन अब अंबेडकर वार्ड में कांग्रेसी महिला पार्षद चुनी गई है इसलिए जानबूझकर भेदभाव किया जा रहा है, नगर पालिका पानी की सप्लाई नही कर रही है।

मेरे खिलाफ एफआईआर की जानकारी मिली है, जनता के लिये यदि पानी मांगना अपराध है जनता की मूलभूत आवश्यकताओं के लिये बोलना अपराध है कोई दिक्कत नही , भाजपा की सरकार को जितनी एफआईआर करवाना है करवाये, हम आम जनता के लिये लड़ते है हमनें महिलाओं के लिये पानी उपलब्ध कराने की बात रखी थी।
